Disposable Alcohol Tester - Approved for Use in France

The disposable alcohol tester is a perfect tool for determining whether you have consumed too much alcohol to drive. The test can tell you in just a few minutes whether you are over or under the legal alcohol limit of 0.5 per mille.

Alkotjek is certified by NF: NFX20-702 -version 2014 and the French decree 2015-775. It is therefore approved for use in France, making it useful to have while driving in the country.

How to use Alkotjek:
Remove the ampoule from the bag.
Squeeze the ends of the small ampoule together.
Inflate the balloon with a breath.
Insert the ampoule into the balloon.
Squeeze the air out of the balloon.
Wrap your hand around the ampoule for 1 to 3 minutes.
Read the result.
When the crystals in the ampoule are exposed to breath containing an alcohol level above 0.5, they change color from white to red.

White crystals: Result is below 0.5 per mille.
Red crystals: Result is above 0.5 per mille.
If the crystals do not change color or remain white, the alcohol level in the exhaled air is below 0.5.

Important information before using the test:
In most cases, alcohol will be absorbed 1-2 hours after the last drink has been consumed. The most accurate reading of your blood alcohol content is therefore 1-2 hours after the last intake.

Wait 15 minutes after drinking alcohol before blowing into the balloon. This way, the alcohol content in your blood is measured, rather than any residual alcohol that may be in your mouth.

Avoid belching while blowing into the balloon and be aware that certain food items may contain alcohol.

Result of the test:
Wait 2-15 minutes after emptying the balloon of air. If you want to be completely sure that your alcohol level is below the legal limit, we recommend taking another test an hour after the first.
