Akrapovic's tailpipe for the BMW XM G09 is made of high-quality titanium and has integrated acoustic reflectors designed to direct external sound towards the cabin, improving the overall acoustic experience. The two integrated exhaust valves, on either side of the muffler and controlled by the Akrapovic control kit, adjust the gas flow to provide a better sound experience. The sound progresses linearly based on revs and engine load, delivering a smooth and harmonious tone at lower revs, developing into a distinctive V8 rumble, and finally culminating in a high-frequency sporty sound at higher revs.

The exhaust is finished off with two sets of distinctive tailpipes with a titanium inner sleeve and a hand-crafted carbon outer sleeve. The complex components of this Slip-On Line, including the valve bodies, are all cast in in-house titanium foundries. The system is 11.35 kg (50.7%) lighter than the standard storage system.

The sports rear pot offers power and torque increases of 7.6 kW (10.3 hp) and 12.6 Nm respectively, both at 5,750 rpm, after testing on the Akrapovic dyno against a BMW XM Label with an M exhaust system. The plug-and-play installation requires no remapping and includes EC/ECE type approval
